I am a software developer and founder originally from Sri Lanka, now based in Sudbury, Ontario. I moved to Canada as a first-generation immigrant and built my local network by creating opportunities instead of waiting for them.
Through The Alpha Nova Inc., I work on applied AI, IoT, automation, health-tech, and industrial software projects. Alongside my technical work, I organize developer events, teach part-time at Cambrian College, and help students, researchers, professors, and companies collaborate on real-world technology.
My work sits at the intersection of software engineering, community building, and practical innovation.

A software and applied AI company building real-world technology solutions for businesses, researchers, and communities.
Supporting the adaptation and outreach of COGITO, a free mental health self-help app (19 languages, 240,000+ downloads, backed by multiple scientific studies) developed with the UKE Hamburg clinical neuropsychology team. I'm exploring localization for communities in Sri Lanka, including Tamil and Sinhala support and social-cohesion use cases.
A remote patient monitoring concept for depression and mental health, using passive sensing (sleep, activity, HRV, and behavioral signals) to help track changes between clinical assessments.
A non-wearable, RF-based fall detection system for underground mining environments, improving worker safety without requiring wearable devices.
A community hackathon bringing 100+ students, developers, founders, researchers, and first-time builders together to create AI prototypes for Northern Ontario, across mining, health & safety, sustainability, and practical local AI tools.
Real industrial software and IoT systems in the mining sector: industrial dashboards, machine telemetry, real-time data pipelines, environmental monitoring, edge computing, and operational visibility.

My community-building work in Sudbury also opened global opportunities, including attending Google I/O and connecting with developers and technology leaders beyond Northern Ontario.

I believe technology communities can change the direction of a city. In Sudbury, I've helped bring together students, developers, professors, researchers, founders, and industry partners through meetups, hackathons, workshops, and applied technology projects.
My goal is to make Northern Ontario a stronger place for AI, software, IoT, and innovation.
